The joy of Carlton Place Market

I love the spirit of the local community and supporting local businesses, I love handmade things and I love markets.

All of those I can find at Carlton Place market every first Saturday of the month. https://visitsouthampton.co.uk/events/carlton-place-market

This Saturday could not be a better day for the outdoor market with such beautiful sunshine marking the first day of spring. Carlton Place market is organised by beautiful Emma, owner of the https://www.gaiahealthstore.co.uk/

She is so passionate about bringing new and interesting sellers to the market and always introduces people. I even get notifications from her just before the market day about stalls that I might like. The scary thing is that she is always right :).

Carlton Place market every month hosts a variety of stalls selling food, beauty products, vintage, drinks and much more.

My top 3 favourites are :

The Basket Shack
Vintage baskets and I can’t deny I am addicted to them. I bought 3 already. They are pretty, multi-functional and of amazing quality (not made in China). Every time I go shopping with my basket, I get compliments. With spring already here, I’ve got one ready for the picnics. Check it out on the next market day in April.

Beauty products made by https://ziverorganiques.com/
Incredible products hand-made by a talented team, all made with natural high-quality ingredients. I have been using their face oils and serums for a couple of months and I see the difference. Their candles are just gorgeous.

Handcrafted Liqueurs, Inspired by Natural Flavours https://www.mureliqueurs.com/
Created by MasterChef-winning chef Mat Follas. They taste delicious. My favourite is Old Tom Gin with rich notes of liquorice and aniseed balanced with the bold character of juniper infused with dark sugars.

Watch this space for a very special product coming out in July. I can’t wait.

These are some of my favourites not just because of the products but because all these businesses are run by passionate, interesting and fun people. And that makes a massive difference.

Let us all try and support more of our local businesses.

If you are interested in trading in this market, please send an email: to gaiahealthstore@hotmail.com

I am looking forward to the next market in April.

With love as always,
Yana De Lilac
