Cardiff is an excellent place to visit as a solo traveller.
This beautiful and vibrant city has something to offer for everyone’s taste.
It boasts a rich culture, diverse art, fascinating history, stunning architecture, vibrant music, delectable food, and a thriving shopping scene.
I started my weekend by taking a boat trip from Cardiff Castle to Cardiff Bay—a delightful 30 minutes with commentaries.
Cardiff Bay was extremely busy and fun, featuring a massive food and crafts market with a superb selection, all made in Wales. I enjoyed shopping there and chatting with the sellers.
After that, I decided to explore the National Museum of Cardiff, and I was not disappointed. It boasts an awe-inspiring art collection, featuring my favourite Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, a natural history exhibition, and much more. And it is free to visit. Also, it has the best gift shop.
Then there are beautiful Victorian and Edwardian shopping arcades.
With over 100 independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants right in the heart of the city, the arcades offer a truly unique experience.
And finally, there was a magical experience of the live concert by Sting in the grounds of Cardiff Castle. The atmosphere was just sensational.
It was a fantastic weekend and I met so many people from all over the world. Cardiff is a very friendly and social city. Local people are lovely and ready to help. Overall, I found Cardiff to be an excellent choice for a city break for a solo traveller.
With Love as Always,
