On hot weather and my top summer reads.

I do not like hot weather. It is just not my thing. A perfect summer for me is one with a maximum temperature of 20-22 degrees Celsius. As a very active person, I put a lot of things on hold, and my going out depends on whether the place has air conditioning.

But being a positive person, I found a silver lining to this…….I am reading a lot. I am a keen reader, but I am going through books at a much faster rate than usual in summer.

In this post, I would like to share some of the books I enjoyed this summer.

Crime fiction and thriller

My discovery of Helen Fields this summer was an absolute thrill! Her books had me on the edge of my seat, and I couldn’t be more excited to share them with you.

The first book, The Profiler, was so good that I finished it in 5 days, and I wanted more. The Shadow Man did not disappoint either. Reading both books was a nail-biting experience. The only downside is that I jumped every time the doorbell rang. I shall explore more of her books.

Magical realism of Joanne Harris

She is one of my favourite writers and I couldn’t wait to start The Strawberry Thief.  It is the fourth in a series of interconnected novels that began with Chocolat, followed by The Lollipop Shoes, and Peaches for Monsieur le Cure. All the books are delightful and touching. They have a good story, magic, love, life philosophy and beautiful characters. Feel good factor at its best.

Books that inspire

I love books that help me lead a more fulfilling life, both spiritually and in terms of personal growth. However, there are many options available, and it takes time to find the one that works for you.

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari by Robin S. Sharma is a book that not only inspires but also provides practical advice on how to live a happy life, offering simple wisdom in an easy-to-digest and enjoyable format.

It reminded me a little of The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these books, or even better, share your own favourites with me.

With Love As Always,
