I was sitting in the café in Nessebar, Bulgaria, watching as an older gentleman across the square sold works of art.
I was mesmerised. It was clear the man was keen to sell, but there was more to him. He had so much passion, yet also integrity.
I noticed a painting with lilac purple flowers and came over to check it out.
He did all the paintings, and it was his last day of the season, selling his art.
His collection included paintings from two of my favourite books – Don Quixote and The Little Prince. The abundance of Don Quixote images made it hard to choose, but I was drawn to the first one I loved. I shared this with the artist, sparking a unique and profound connection between us.
“I am going to go with my gut instinct and choose the first one I loved”, I said to the man.
“That is how you should always choose art and love”
“I am not very lucky with love”, I said, smiling
“Don’t worry,” he reassured me, “like that painting, love will find you when you’re ready.” His words were not just comforting but also filled with profound wisdom, a testament to the depth of his character.
I was back in the square a couple of days after that, and he was no longer there.
There was a reason I met him and bought his paintings. I always believe that the universe sends me what I need.
My entire trip to Bulgaria was marked by numerous significant messages and signs. From the unexpected encounters with locals to the serendipitous moments in nature, each experience seemed to carry a deeper meaning, guiding me on my journey of self-discovery.
Stay tuned for more about my transformative journey in Bulgaria next week.
With Love as Always,
