On unconditional love and a bit of poetry.

“I shall always love you”, I said

He was surprised; he did not expect this

“I love you also”, he said

The thing is, nothing ever happened between us other than a powerful connection that felt like a soul-level bond. We can talk seriously and laugh for hours. I learnt so much from this man. He always listened, shared his life experience and wisdom.

Don’t take me wrong, there was always a temptation. But the circumstances, the place and timing were not right.

This poem always comes to my mind when I think of him.

“Our lives may not have fit together,

but ohhh did our souls know how to dance…”

K.Towne Jr.

Why are we so stingy when it comes to openly expressing love, whether through words, gestures, or actions? What personal meanings or experiences make us hold back from sharing our feelings more freely?

Love is a universal experience, available to everyone, and flows freely without barriers or restrictions.

Love doesn’t always require commitment or promises; it can simply be a presence that enriches our lives in many ways.

We don’t own anyone, and love can take many forms, not always turning into a relationship. I have learnt that through my life. It was not always easy, but I am happy that my view on love changed.

And quoting from my favourite Depeche Mode :

We’ve been running from love

No, we don’t know what we’re doing here

And we’re only here

Sharing our free love

Let’s make it clear

That this is free love

No hidden catch, no strings attached

Just free love

I am happy that there are many people in my life that I love – my family, my friends, my colleagues, people that randomly come into my life for a very brief moment but inspire and support me. And I love him also :).

With Love As Always,
