“What is the most interesting vintage piece you ever sourced?”
“It has to be early 2000s Dior cowboy boots. I am a sucker for cowboy boots. The craftsmanship that went into them is remarkable. True masterpiece!”
This week I am in conversation with one of my favourite Sotons, stylish, beautiful and amazing in all ways, Flo, the person behind Flo’s Flea Market
https://walkinginmyshoes.me.uk/2025/04/27/flos-flea-market/
Her events always bring joy to my soul.
“Flo, please tell me how and when you started your market venture?”
“I started 4 years ago when I saw a gap in local activities. Southampton has so many creative people and things to offer, and I wanted to make a space for that”
“Like many others, I am often confused about the definition of vintage. What is your view on that?”
“For me, it’s anything from the 90s and older, but I know vintage is technically 20 years old. But I can’t deal with 2006 being vintage yet :):)”
“Coming to your market is always special, not just for the amazing vintage finds but also because of the strong sense of community you foster among like-minded people. It makes me feel connected and inspired to be part of something bigger.
What is the most rewarding thing about what you do?”
“Without a doubt, it is all about meeting fabulous people and building a lovely community. I met friends for life through markets, and it’s lovely to support local businesses too. I love hearing people’s stories and hearing about clothing items. For me, it is truly a dream come true!”
I wish Flo all the best in her venture, and I can’t wait for the next event.
