My Zen Place

Do you have a place of power, a place of peace, where you feel truly relaxed and recharged when you need to unwind?

It is the 3rd time I have been to Hayling Island, and I realised that this is my personal Zen place, a spot that truly grounds me.

The island is located between Chichester Harbour and Portsmouth, just off the coast of Hampshire, UK.
Whenever I am in Hayling, I believe in time travelling.

This place is all about retro charm and an unhurried pace, not just recreated in shops but a genuine, calming experience that feels truly authentic.
The beach here never feels overcrowded, and the sea offers a serene escape. The tranquillity of the island is truly calming. The sea feels fresh, clean and a bit warmer. It is a paradise for real vintage shopping, including many gardens selling charming pieces for 50 pence to 1 pound per item.
I stumbled across a fascinating Curiosity shop full of interesting pieces, and my centrepiece of the shopping trip is a statuette of the much-loved Betty Boop.

I stayed at the lovely, quirky, and creative studio apartment with a terrace and a hot tub, hosted by the very friendly Molly and Rosemary.

I had an amazing weekend, and I am looking forward to going back to my Zen place very soon.
Reach out if you want to share your own Zen places; I’d love to hear about the spaces that bring you peace and calm.

With Love as Always,
Yana De Lilac
