Why I love the SeaCity Museum of Southampton

Without a doubt SeaCity Museum is my absolute favourite place in Southampton. And there are a number of reasons for this.

First of all, I love the building itself. It is a part of the iconic Grade II* listed Civic Centre buildings, which were started in 1929.

The museum is mostly known for its extensive coverage of the Titanic story and is one of the main attractions for people visiting Southampton.

But It does offer so much more. There are exhibitions featuring Southampton’s maritime history. There are many interesting exhibits from prehistoric periods to World War II. Museum shows extremely well City’s rich heritage and I go there regularly and always learn something new.

I love the cafe at the museum. It is so cosy and has a great view over the city. They do the best jacket potatoes and delicious home made cakes. The team both in the cafe and in the whole museum is so super friendly.

Then there is a gift shop :). Somehow I always find something interesting there.

And finally, for the inner child in me, I love SeaCity Museum for its amazing collection of vintage playing machines. My favourite is a Fortune Teller 🙂

Come and spend some time in this amazing museum. You won’t be disappointed.

With Love as Always,
Yana De Lilac

Isn’t it great! No matter how many times I go in the Southampton part, I learn something new. There is a fantastic photo of the trams going through the Bargate. I just have to have a cheeky play on the machines. I adore the shape of the building. I own a lot from that shop too haha
