My favourite Zen places in Southampton.

It has been a year and 6 months since I moved to Southampton.

I am in love with this amazing place and always passionate about sharing it with others. I want more people to spend time getting to know Southampton.

There is still so much more to learn and explore, but I wanted to share my favourite places that also became my Zen places in this big and fascinating City. Here they are, in no particular order.

Southampton Common, The Hawthorns grounds/wildlife garden and cafe

https://www.southampton.gov.uk/people-places/parks-open-spaces/hawthorns/the-cafe-hawthorns/

is a wildlife environment showing the different habitats within the City of Southampton. The cafe has a little terrace with a view worthy of Monet’s Gardens paintings. Check it out for breakfasts, lunches and ice cream.

I love reading books and libraries.

Southampton Central Library https://www.southampton.gov.uk/libraries/find-library/central-library/

is, first of all, a beautiful building.

It was designed by the English architect Ernest Berry Webber in the classical style and was completed in 1939

It has a great collection of books and a community spirit with various activities. It is a place where you can read, study or observe the world and have a beautiful view of the City.

SeaCity Museum

I have already written about it, but it is still my most visited place in Southampton, and I can’t get enough of it.

I always learn something new there about the history of the City.

I love the cafe at the museum. It is so cosy and has a great view.  I also love its fantastic collection of vintage playing machines. My favourite is a Fortune Teller 🙂

Vinilo Record Store in Southampton https://vinilo.co.uk/

Because I love vinyl records, this store has a fascinating collection, a cool vibe and great people.

With Love as Always,

Love the library and using my new shiny library card! They also have the BIPC in there offering free help for small businesses too which is amazing!
